My suggestion is to get rid of the binding!  The same thing happened to mine, 
so I took it to Kinko's and removed the binding, cut of the "rough" edges, 
punched holes in the pages, and put the whole thing in a binder.  By keeping 
it in a binder, you can also easily remove any of the pages.
