We sang G-d is in and they LOVED it, and had already copied down Billy's
website info so they could get his CD by the time I finished singing. My
advice was to buy 100 and give them as gifts to everyone.

Great story! I'm on my way back to the Kerrville Folk Festival, where for
the last 8 years, I'm privileged to lead Shabbat morning t'fillah and other
Jewish music in two weekends. They've added a third Shabbat to next year's
schedule (the festival runs 18 days) because it is so popular. It's the
reason I can't come to HN. Over the years, the Jews have told me that it's
the only service they attend all year, and this year, a Charismatic
Christian told me that the "Holy Ghost" was present in my music. Whew! Who
knew?

Jewish folkies who don't perform Jewishly (Peter Yarrow, David Broza (ok, so
he DOES perform Jewishly - but not at the festival); Eric Schwartz, Janis
Ian, Eric Schwartz, Chudk Brodsky, David Amram, among others) come out of
the woodwork and ask to play a song or two with me during this time. But,
one of the highlights is that Billy Jonas has sat in with me for the entire
service - for the second year in a row. Let me tell you - his sweet tenor
harmonizing to my music is amazing enough, but then getting to sing "God is
In" with him in that phenomenal atmosphere tops even that. We also got to
play "Paul and Mary" to Peter Yarrow when he sang "Day is Done." I'm not
blond and Billy's not tall (or bald!) but it worked! Billy's invited me to
sing with him tonight at his 2-hour concert there, and told me say hello to
all his friends at HN. Kerrville is very much Hava Nashira for folk music
fans. LOTS of them are MOTs. Someday, I hope to make it to OSRUI. But, in
the meantime, it's not a bad substitute.

I look forward to hearing more stories from this list. Bring it
on.....gently....I'll be envious, but I'll live vicariously through you.....
