We don't normally give the families a lot of choices in the music we use at 
our B'nei Mitzvot services.  Once in a while the pianist and I will change a 
tune just for variety.  If, however, someone in the family or the Bar/Bat 
Mitzvah child is quite musical they can sing one of the songs in the service 
or play one on their instrument.  Also, if a family requests a song that we 
don't usually do on Shabbat morning we will honor the request.
