hebrew colorsDear Ellen,

Most Hebrew colors have the first syllable as 'a' (= 'ah') and the second 
syllable (which is stressed) as 'o' (pronounced long "oh", not short 'ah'). 
This includes blue: kAchol (not k'chol).

Exceptions to this pattern are the words for brown white, and light blue.
