[HANASHIR:11354] anti zionism in the reform movement

hi, adrian. thanks for posting the other 2 reform paltforms, as i had made
reference to reforms gradual shift throughtout the 20th century. but, i
must add that to call the reform movement "a-zionist" is merely a semantic
excercise. stories such as those about rabbis wise and polish underscore the
fact that there were very strong ANTI-zionists certainly in 1919 and 1948.
in fact, i understand, rabbi wise was also criticized by other reform rabbis-
zionism flew smack in the face of creating a viable progressive jewish stream
in the united states. although i have never read extensively on the issue, i
am sure there are books out there chronicling reforms
zionist/a-zionist/anti-zionist experience, and cerainly a biograpy on rabbi
wise.
