[HANASHIR:11253] RE: Yom Hashoah

Here in Paris, near the now demolished velodrome (bike racing stadium - near
Metro Bir Hakeim) where the Jews were rounded up before being transported to
camps, every year the Jewish organizations erect a tent and from there they
read, from morning until night, the list of names of French Jews who
perished in the war. There is a loud speaker, so the names can be heard for
quite some distance around. The list is read at a good clip, and even so,
the recitation takes all day. It is a moving memorial. Perhaps you can do
something on this order in some way, followed by the Kaddish.

I want to lead a service tomorrow but I need some
help. I live in a freshman dorm at the University of
Minnesota and I want to have some sort of program for
Yom Hashoah, however I want it to be powerful for both
Jews and gentiles. If anybody has any ideas, readings,
or song ideas you can e-mail me at
elanarose (at) yahoo(dot)com(dot) Thank you som much for your time,
I hope everybody is doing well.
