Hi Donna,
You should probably look into Kol B'Seder's wonderful rendition of the
story:
Ruth & Naomi (Klepper/Freelander)
G /F# E- C B7
This is the story of Ruth and Naomi, uprooted, abandoned alone
C A- D
Though the famine was over their hope and their loved ones were gone
G E- C B7
Ruth and Naomi were saying Goodbye embracing each other they cried
C A-
Naomi said "Ruth, now go back to your home"
C D
But Ruth shook her head and replied
G C G
Do not urge, do not urge me to leave you
C G C G D
To leave you, to turn back and not follow you
C A- C A-
For wherever you go, that's where I will go
C A- D
And wherever you are , that's where I will be
C G /F# E- C D(G)
Your people, shall be my people, and your God, shall be my God (2x)
All the choices we make and the lives that we lead,
Are relfections of how we have grown
Ruth made a choice, and she cast her lot,
with her family and found a new home
Do not urge..
