[HANASHIR:11077] Re: songleader training

This will be third year that I am bringing some of our songleader "aides" to
HN. They are all high school students. And while I agree, Rachelle, that Hava
Nashira MAY be an overwhelmingly adult experience, my "kids" have not found it
so. There have been a few other high schoolers, and everyone has been very
welcoming to them. Each of these kids has come back incredibly psyched,
motivated and more committed to and educated about Jewish music and
songleading. One of these "kids", Elana Sondel, is now in college, a songleader
in her own right, and she's coming back again. Is there a better time than the
teenage years to capture and build upon such enthusiasm??

Can anyone tell me what kind of training might be available for young song
leaders (14-18) just starting out? HN may seem a bit overwhelmingly adult for
a younger teen. I am thinking of someone with a huge repertoire who might
benefit from some help learning to teach and lead.
  Thanks,
