Macy Nulman's book is, indeed, a total must on the reference shelf of
anyone picking/choosing liturgy, leading services, etc.

It's in paperback, and I see it's on-sale used at half.com for $9.50 (new,
$40 at Amazon).

BTW, he also has a book out, from 25 years ago, called "Encyclopedia of
Jewish Music."  Anyone know anything about it?
