[HANASHIR:10867] Sheet Music requests, et al

Hello Friends:

I am so glad that many of you who serve in the capacity of "specialists"
and/or advisors to their congregations are taking the initiative to either
learn music or are asking where to find the music. In the spirit of
copyright laws and good "sportsmanship," I would point you either to the
Transcontinental Music catalogue (of which Joel Eglash is a list memeber) or
directly to some of the artists' sites.
A very nice Y'varechecha (Birkat Kohanim or "Priestly Benediction"),
previously unpublished by Helfman, can be found in the Cantor's Lifecycle
Manual (which you should all own no matter what your synagogue role may be).
I am almost positive that this melody will be useful to everyone. The Manual
is available through Transcontinental Music www.etranscon.com and is chock
full of everything one would need "up their sleeves" for a funeral (ken ayin
hara) and shiva minyan, wedding, Bar / Bat Mitzvah anthem, prayers for
healing, and others.
The music for many of the Safam songs can be obtained on the Safam website:
www.safam.com where they sell music books, disks, and have other things that
get the music out there. And, best of all, when we order the music...
instead of photocopy and faxing photocopies... we're doing the right thing.
It just makes you feel good all over!
