I received the following text as a fax today, and I wanted to at least pass 
it along through our list.  It was apparently sent to a community member here 
with the same last name as mine, but intended to go to the community member 
having some connection to Jewish music, so he printed it out and faxed it to 
me.  It was, in the original, in Spanish and English.  I have sent the 
English to you.

Having a number of Argentine friends and congregants right now has made me 
acutely aware of the crisis both for the nation in general, and for the Jews 
in Argentina.  I don't know if there is anyone out there who has a lead on 
some help or someone for this woman to talk to, but this group is one 
resource that I thought should have this:

Hi, my name is Mariana Lev.  I'm 24.  I'm living in the Province of Tucuman 
(Argentina).  The JOINT [JDC, or Amerian Jewish Joint Distribution Committee] 
has given me your email to write to you.  My profession is "Liturgical 
singer."  I started with Liturgical Music, singing in Hebrew, in several 
synagogues in Buenos Aires.  

My singing Professor is Mr. Cesar Belenisky, one of the best American 
liturgical voices.  He is the Jazan [Hazzan] of one of the most important 
Conservative Temples of Buenos Aires. 

I'm from Buenos Aires, but since I have arrived in Tucuman (2 years ago), in 
addition to singing in Hebrew I started with Latin Pop Melodic Music, and in 
this genre, in only one year, I have received 2 Internationals Awards.

I'm also qualify at the ORT University as "Integral Audiovisual Media 
Producer."

The reason of my email is to tell you that my couple [pareja / husband?] 
(Marcelo Zelicovich, 34) and I, would like to out from Argentina, to look for 
new horizons.  That's why, by means of your Community, we'd like to see the 
possibility to do something about it.  I'm sure that you are informed about 
the very bad economical and social situation in Argentina, specially for the 
Jewish community, because what we are listening, isn't favorable, and it 
reminds me what has happened in Europe.

We'd like to grow and have a good future inside the Jewish Community.  

Marcelo is a Community Director, he is also a merchant.  He has a little firm 
of Room's Scenting, and an invention's patent about his work, which right 
now, he could start to commercialize.

I'd appreciate all that you could do for us.
