[HANASHIR:10765] Re: Purim Parody Songs

It would be great to get some of the words to those parodies. If someone is
willing to send me some. You can write to me personally at justeyes (at)
bellsouth(dot)net Thanks again in advance. This list is amazing :)

  Subject: [HANASHIR:10760] Purim Parody Songs

A couple of days ago I sent an email to the group asking for simple Purim
songs, preferably parodies of well known tunes, to teach in my 15 minute music
classes this Sunday. I thank you for the response and words for My Hat It Has
Three Corners. This was a "special request" and will definitely be on the
agenda.

Since I didn't see any other songs come through on our list, I thought I'd
share a few that I just now located in a misplaced file. These may be very
well know to most of you, but I imagine there are a few other newcomers on the
list that might be interested. While there are many wonderful Purim songs, my
challenge, at the last minute, is to teach my students three songs they could
sing at the end of classes during a Purim parade. Most of my students are
under 7.

Here are the titles and the tunes. If anyone is interested, I'll be happy to
email the words to you.

When You Hear The Name of Hamen - Tune is If You're Happy and You Know It
Who's the Uncle of the Queen? - Tune is Hinky Dinky Parley-Vous (a personal
favorite)
Purim Folk - Tune is Old MacDonald
The Courtship - Tune is Daisy, Daisy
Vashti's Song - Tune is Sippin' Cider
Brave Queen Esther - Tune is Short'nin' Bread

For a "quick, learn the songs to sing at the end of classes" song list, I
recommend When You Hear the Name of Hamen and Who's the Uncle of the Queen.
Very repetitive. The first one also has several movements.
