my congregation has not compiled their own songbook as of yet, although i
have been suggesting it for some time now. but i have seen many
congregations that have made their own. from what i have seen, they usually
include Hebrew text and transliterations, they do not include a melody line,
some include guitar chords, but not important if it is purely a songbook. as
far as what was included, from talking to the people who have compiled them
in the past, they simply looked through the shireinu and selected the pieces
that they used in their congregation. i hope this helps.
