[HANASHIR:10554] Hans Wurman

Hans Wurman was my mom's choir director at her synagogue in Chicago when she
was in her preteens and teens. I know he left an indelible wonderful mark
on her life (part of which was passed to me, too, through the music she sang
to me).

For those of you who knew Hans Wurman and/or his compositions/arrangements:

Hans's obituary from the Chicago Tribune is below:
> December 10, 2001
>
> Hans Wurman, longtime Chicago resident, died peacefully on Nov 27, 2001 in
Cedar Crest, New Mexico. He is survived by his four children and three
grandchildren. Mr. Wurman had experienced a number of problems with his
heart and it was this condition to which he ultimately succumbed. Born
January 21, 1922, he was 79 years old. He left Chicago in late September to
live with his son Felix and it was there, in the bosom of his family that he
passed on. His body was cremated the following day in Albuquerque NM. In
accordance with his wishes, no memorial service is planned, but inquiries
and condolences can be made to: Candida Wurman Yoshikai at 2711 Country Club
Court NW, Olympia, WA, 98502.
