[HANASHIR:10542] chanukah craft and song

Thank you to those who answered my request for a Chanukah craft for
non-Jewish, Italian children. The winning craft was making menorahs from a
graham cracker, frosting, mini-marshmallows, and mini pretzel sticks. We
added red frosting on top of the "candles." We sang Hanerot Halalu (d
dorian, duple meter, slow and simple) in my Italian translation, which I
share here:

Belle belle candele
noi accendiamo
Accendiamo qui
Questa menorah

We also read the Kimmel/Himmel Chanukah book in Italian, and I learned to
translate the following concepts:

chant brachot: recitare i riti festivi

Maccabees: Maccabei

latkes: fritelle di patata

We left "shamash" in the Hebrew, as if it were a proper name.

Hope this turns out to be useful to someone some day in the distant future.

Julia
