To Callie, and others who might be concerned about flying with guitars: I just
flew a couple days ago and while I didn't actually travel with my guitar, I saw
others who did. I really depends on your airline, and on the attitude of the
person who happens to be checking you in. Just take it in your hard case and
be prepared to check it. Also, try not to have anything else to carry on --
you're more likely to be able to take it on the plane if you don't have
additional baggage with you (except for maybe a purse or something). Also, if
you have any type of tool such as a wire snipper or other sharp instrument
(even a nail file) in your case, be prepared to have it confiscated unless you
put it in your checked baggage. Good luck, have a safe flight and a wonderful
winter vacation! Happy Chanukah!
Also, Shira Kline, I don't know your email address, but I have to ask you, was
that you walking up Broadway last Thursday night? I was in New York visiting a
couple friends and as we headed to dinner, I saw you (or your twin!) with a
guitar on your back walking towards us. When I looked at you, you smiled and
kind of laughed and kept walking. I don't know why I didn't say your name
before getting too far away... delayed reaction, I guess! But I have been
insanely curious ever since!
