[HANASHIR:10440] forwarding artist information...

Dear Josée,
Thank you so much for offering to forward our information. Here it is:

To whom it may concern,
I am currently in the process of organizing concerts in the US for March of
2002 based on an invitation for concerts and masterclass with harpist Judy
Kadar Swarthmore College (3/22) and Northwestern University (4/2).
I take the liberty of sending information:
The duo with Historical and Pedal harps (Judy Kadar) and Alto voice
(Elizabeth Neiman) will be performing the program "Songs of the
Diaspora", with works from 1000 years of Jewish music from the Ashkenazy and
Sephardic traditions. Rather than using a printed program we give a running
commentary of translations, historical anecdotes and explanations that we
can tailor to fit the needs and interests of different audiences. We augment
the
traditional music with medieval, renaissance and 20th century compositions
that either pertain
to Jewish themes, as in Ravel's setting of the Kaddish, or are by Jewish
composers.
All works are in our own transcriptions or settings for voice and harp.

A big advantage of this program is that we can play it in almost any roofed
space - a museum foyer, an atrium, a train station or even someone's living
room. We are presented in the internet portal http://www.Milch-und-Honig; I
think there is some music
to download there, too. Our CD has been in several radio broadcasts and is
getting good
press so far. If you would like excerpts as a Demo, please let me know.
Sincerely
Elizabeth Neiman
