Here are the lyrics: (sorry about the double space...) my email is
shirona (at) bellatlantic(dot)net . I actually learned the song from Rick
Calvert -
don't know where it's published. You our there, Doug?

  Shirona

Justice, Justice ? By Doug Cotler

Chorus: Justice, justice, I will pursue you

  I will never cease

  To do what?s right!

  The more there?s justice

The more there will be peace?

  1.

We know what it?s like, to be without a home

We know what it?s like, to wander years alone

And I must break the chains that bind the slave

  And make oppression disappear

And I must help the stranger find a bed

And I will share my bread ? so -

  Chorus?

  2.

In the beggar?s eye, sparks of heaven shine

In the captive?s cry, the voice of the divine..

  And I must?

  3.

Everyone must work, to move a single stone

Mountains cruel and cold, can?t be moved alone

So we must break the chains that bind the slave

  And make oppression disappear

And we must help the stranger find a bed

And we will share our bread ? so -

  Chorus?

As I'll probably get an answer much faster through this list instead of
combing through a website or my library, in which book can one find Doug's
"Justice Justice?" The one I have does not include it (guess it's an older
one!).

And Shirona, I'd love to chat with you, could you please either email me
or give out your email address. Thanks so much.

A while back I shared with the list my apprehension at teaching Doug
Cotler's terrific song "Justice, justice", thinking that although the lyrics
are extremely appropriate for these times, they might be misinterpreted.
After careful consideration and some encouragement from list-folks -
(thanks, Steve...) I decided to go ahead and do it.

Here's the reason I'm sharing - this song as become nothing short of
a phenomenon. That the kids LOVE this song is hardly the way to describe
what happens. They go nuts! ( 4th, 5th and 6th graders). The message of
the song is so powerful and so positive, and seeing that take hold in
hundreds of children with so much enthusiasm - what can I say - you can't
get more "nachas" than that as a Jewish music teacher.
