[HANASHIR:10090] Re: Special service music

Our volunteer singing group also has been asked to sing at a variety of
interfaith services or get-togethers. Some of the songs that we have sung
include:

CIRCLE CHANT by Linda Hirshhorn This song is a favorite at most occasions
where we have sung. We usually sing it with piano accompaniment: the first
time in unison, the second time with the harmonies and the third time a
capella with harmonies.

YOU SHALL INDEED GO OUT WITH JOY Isaiah (55:12) Nancy Schimmel
If you don't know this song, it has a lot of spirit and is fun to 'teach'
before you sing it so that the congregation can try to sing along.

HINEI MAH TOV and SHALOM CHAVEIRIM are easy to sing and are, of course two
easy old stand-bys

MAY THE WORDS (Y'hiyu L'ratzon in English) is absolutely beautiful, too.
Thre Debbie Friedman Songs that are also appropriate are:
NASIM L'SHALOM
NOT BY MIGHT and
T'FILAT HADERECH

I hope this is some help to you. I look forward to reading some other
responses from the list.

double-rainbows spread their joy across our sky.
