Helen, there are lots of Hinei Mah Tov settings that could work nicely if
they include English as well. I've got a Hinei Mah Tov that's been
successfully sung by volunteer choirs at some interfaith services and
specifically calls for peace. It's rather brief but has an English verse, a
Hebrew verse, and is usually presented with an instrument-only (clarinet,
piano, etc.) verse. The English lyrics are:
How good it is for us together
To sit and sing in unity.
How good it is for us together
To live our lives in harmony.
How good it is for us together
To help bring peace throughout the land.
Hinei mah tov, hinei mah tov
Bring peace together hand in hand.
You can hear it at amazon.com. (Search for my name.) I could fax you the
sheet music -- it's just a single page from my songbook -- with permission
to make copies.

Our volunteer choir at Temple is going to sing at a special all faiths
service on the 20th of November. We have been looking for a song that is
English and gives the message of peace
