[HANASHIR:10078] starting a youth singing group (choir)

congratulations, nell, on this exciting undertaking. i, too, lead a youth
choir and i don't have much "formal" music training. all it take is an
intense love of jewish music and the belief that through your own enthusiasm
you can get kids to be excited about judaism. one word of advice....i call
my choir a "youth singing group." it becomes less intimidating. perhaps
choirs are more concerned with perfection? youth singing goups are there for
the fun. the accuracy and intricate harmonies will come naturally when the
kids are ready. anyway, what really matters is that the families pack the
synagogue to see their children on the bima. ya-shar ko-ach!
