It would be great if responses are posted to the list.  I, too, am directing 
a youth choir this year, and would welcome input.

'Rehearsals' are starting up next week.  I'm working closely with the cantor 
on the programming and selections.  The synagogue has 'Shabbat Rocks'  
services (Kabbalat Shabbat with guitar, drums & keyboard) late spring - 
summer - early fall, and 'Havdallah Rocks' in the winter.  Our goal is to 
prepare the youth choir for a Havdallah Rocks service in early January, a 
Saturday morning Musaf service later in the winter, and a Shabbat Rocks 
service in the spring.  Special performances may be worked in, too, but the 
focus for this group is to take a leadership role in congregational services. 
 We'll see how it works out!
