[HANASHIR:10041] chanukah collection

on of my favorite collections of traditional songs for chanukah is 'Songs of
Chanukah'. It is a hard covered children's book with pictures of bunnies around
a piano and it was compied by Jewanne Modesitt, ilustrated by Robin Spowart,
musical arrnagements by Uri Ophir. It is copywright 1994 and bulished by LIttle
Brown and Co. Included is chanukah blessings, hanerot Halalu, maoz tzur, O
Chanukah, eight candles, eight Days of Chanukah, mi Y'malel, Lichvod
HaChanukah, Levivot, S'vivon, I have a little dreidle, Chanukah Chag Yafe, Ner
li and Burn, LIttle Candles.

The piano arrangements are in most managble keys and simple arrangements.

By coincidence, many of the songs in this book are also on the Chanukah tape by
Ilene and Margie.

Without these two resources, I would be scurrying around to find the old
standards.

If you have never sung "Eight Days of Chanukah", it goes to the the tune of
"Those were the days, my friends..." and tell the whole story of Chanukah. It
is a treasure. credit s say Folk melody, words by N. Gewirtz

I don't know if the book is in print anymore, but if you can find it, I promise
you will never lend it to anyone!
