We also follow the Yom Tov Service in the Gates of Prayer with the Sukkot 
additions, but since our service is geared towards families with kids, we 
include a lot of Sukkot songs before and during the service.  As Cantorial 
Intern, I usually include a festival Chatzi Kaddish and the special Sukkot Mi 
Chamocha melodies, as well as the Sukkot melody for Hodu L'adoshem while 
shaking the lulav and etrog.  I try to include as much nusach as the Rabbi 
will allow in order for the congregation to know that there are other 
melodies for Jewish holidays besides Shabbat melodies.
