[HANASHIR:8909] Synagogues in Atlanta, GA

Hi everybody,

Due to some really exciting things (my husband finishing his thesis
--yeah! && his getting a job at Georgia Tech -- double yeah!) it looks
like we will be uprooting our cats and moving to Atlanta, Georgia this
summer. Besides my job hunting efforts, we wanted to find some outlets for
our passion for singing Jewish music and most simply a place to go to
synagogue.

So, if you are familiar with the Jewish community in Atlanta, the
synagogues, JCC's, music events, etc, I would love to hear about what you
know. We'll be visiting a couple times this summer and so we are planning
to do some schul shopping while looking for houses. Any suggestions would
be very welcome.

We are interested in a place that is in the Reform-Recon-Conservative
range, preferably with a liberal and a music oriented community.

Also, if there are any Atlanta based singing groups (choral or accappella,
pref. Jewish) that might be interested in an experienced Baritone and an
experienced Mezzo/Alto (now or some time in the future), we would love to
hear about what you do.

Finally, does anyone know if there is an organized Women's Seder in Atlanta?

Please reply to me in private at allenderL (at) acm(dot)org(dot)

B'Shalom,

Laura Ferguson

p.s. -- Due to our impending move we will not make it to Hava Nashira this
year. Love to all of the folks I had such a wonderful time with last year
& I hope to see you there sometime in the future.
