[HANASHIR:8781] RE: Hebrew tapes

Rachelle:

I'm not sure there are any tape series that teach Biblical Hebrew, although
some distance learning programs (like the one at UWisc Extension) utilize
tapes in their programs that they have made themselves. There are, I
believe, tapes that accompany the "Teach Yourself to Read Hebrew" book that
many adults use to first study Hebrew, but those might be too rudimentary
for you. There are any number that teach Modern conversational. "Everyday
Hebrew" is a good one. Learning modern Hebrew is a good way to become
familiar with dikduk and can make the learning of Biblical easier.

  Subject: [HANASHIR:8780] Hebrew tapes

Now that I am commuting regularly to my new position in another city, it
occurred to me that I could be augmenting my Biblical Hebrew studies with
learning tapes for my 4-hour round trip. Can anyone recommend good Hebrew
learning tapes which can be used without having to look at a text while
listening?

  Thanks,
  Rachelle Shubert
