The choir (17 volunteer singers) I direct sits on the bimah through the whole service. In an effort to reach out to the congregation in our large, high-ceilinged sanctuary, I thought we would try making an entrance from the back of the sanctuary, singing our opening song in the center aisle while mounting the bimah. I plan to try it out at rehearsal but wonder if anyone has any experience with this working or not working well. Some suggest it is too churchy. I don't really make that association, but perhaps I am wrong.


What do you think?
