[HANASHIR:8492] my two cents and Et Hamanginah Question

Hello all you hanashirites!
My name is Eric Schoen and I'm a songleader.(oh wait, that's songleaders
anonymous, wrong list) I've been attending Hava Nashira for several years and
have been a subscriber of hanashir for a year now. The reason this is my first
posting is because my computer gets turned on about once a week and by that
time subjects or questions have been well discussed or answered. The magic and
spirituality that is Hava Nashira are the people who gather once a year in
Oconomowac(I feel it's so special I'm bringing my wife this year to experience
instead of just hear about it) and to continue to be a part of this amazing
community via the list has been very fulfilling for me.
OK now my two cents. Recently the line between debating and discussing, and
bickering, personal attacks and discussing a subject to death has been crossed
with both feet. I understand that 10 jews in a room yield 12 opinions, but
state yours and don't dissect others. And if someone has stated yours show a
little restraint. I have learned so much from this list and celebrate it's
diversity and love the fact that there aren't denominational battle lines.
Well that's pretty much it. Two cents doesn't get you very far these days and
I don't want to preach.
One question: I was inspired at my first Hava Nashira and wrote a melody to
Et Hamanginah which I know the words come from an Isreali Air Force guy after
a successful hostage rescue in 1974. Does anyone know the Air force
Guy's name or which hostage incident or any info???
Thanks in advance.
