Speaking of the BINGO song, I've been using a Purim version in the younger
grades (tots - 2nd) and both children (even those who don't read and write
yet, never mind spell) and parents alike, have really enjoyed it because it's
so familiar. It goes like this:
"There is a holiday that's fun and PURIM is it's name, oh..
P-U-R-I-M, P-U-R-I-M, P-U-R-I-M and PURIM is it's name oh, etc.
In the Bingo style, you drop a letter each time and clap instead.
I also have been teaching La Kova Sheli both in hebrew and english and
similarly you drop a word each time but instead of clapping in place of the
word you go "Mmhh" (close your lips tight and grunt!) It takes a lot of
concentration to do it right (not the grunting but the omitting of a word!)
so the kids enjoy the challenge.
