MAZEL TOV...THANK YOU....FINALLY..with all due respect to the other posters 
to my inquiry, you are the first to directly answer the question.  Everyone 
pretty much has been skirting the issue by explaining why and not committing 
to the issue on an equal basis. (male and female)

ps...my exact position with the addition that I will also not attend a 
function that excludes women.  I WILL attend Orthodox cerimonies where women 
are separated by a michitzah...that IS different.
