Please forgive this ignorant non-orthodox male, but what is the issue "Kol
Isha" about? An explanation for the unlettered would certainly be in order
here, if only to keep us all educated.

Every time I see the "warning" on the issue of Kol Isha I feel a shock -
like static electricity that zaps your hand on a cold and dry day. It

repressing, insulting - this horrible "term" makes women feel? This woman,
anyway
Thanks, Shirona for your comments...although I once was hurt by the "rule" or
"issue" of kol isha, I have developed a new attitude of acceptance and
appreciation for it...like other traditions which separate between men's and
women's roles, the underlying laws really speak to the preservation of family
and in many ways shower respect on the woman. Here in Nashville we had an
Orthodox-organized women only concert several years ago, and with every
musician being female, as well as everyone in the audience, it was quite
refreshing. There is some good and bad in every situation...just try to see
the positive...and to be tolerant of those with different views.
