Re Purim songs"
The songs on the "Hamentashen" side of Latkes and Hamentashen, written by my
music partner Jackie Cytrynbaum, that I arranged and produced years ago, are
classics.
The music is all in the Holiday Songbook for Kids on the Tara label.
Available directly from Lemonstone as well. These are preschool songs!!
here are the titles----
A Silly King
Sad People
The Plan
Esther's Dressing Song (Mirror, Mirror)
Esther, Marry Me
Oy, Oy, Uncle Mordechai
Mean Old Haman
Purim's here
As well, there is the additional Purim PlaySong included in the book, for
older kids and if anyone is interested, I have a few more written and not
recorded (about Vashti - "Vashti's Refusal" , an Esther -" It isn't easy
being Queen"... and several others written for a Purim play a couple of years
ago in the bay area.
There is also a fun Purim spoof song on my Z'MAN LASHIR - TIME TO SING HEBREW
with words by Dr. Dina Maiben, principal of a Temple School in Manapalan NJ.
The music is also in the songbook of the same name. (For those of you who
want additional fun Hebrew-teaching songs - this is part of A.R.E.'s Z'Man
Likro curriculum)
I don't know how many people on this list know of it's existence. It got
great reviews in 1994 for teaching a core oral vocabulary.
Both songbooks have songs for Passover as well - soon coming up.
