[HANASHIR:7961] Re: Help with 7th Graders...

Speaking of good musicianship, I have found that by seventh grade most
kids have taken music lessons of one type or another for several years.
Get them to bring their instrument and play it for the group, or at
services, etc. I have had several violinists, pianists, drummers,
guitarists do their "thing" at services. They have ususally asked me
for the music, or what would be appropriate and I have been more than
happy to give them something Jewish to play. Plus, they always ask me (
during or after music) if they can play my guitar. So I hand over my
forty year old Gibson classic, which is priceless (Oy vey!) and let them
play. The look on their faces at doing something cool is worth it.
