Guess I got lucky this time.  I was leading a reform service with 
guitar in the Inbal (formerly Laromme) hotel last Shabbes in 
Jerusalem.  No Mashgiach came calling and by all accounts it seemed 
to go rather well.

(I won't mention our multiple Havdallah candles causing the fire 
alarms in the King Solomon to go off the next night...)

Regarding smoking in public areas...I don't think smoking should be 
allowed in any area on the planet, in particular not any areas where 
oxygen is present.  (Many of you might suggest this rules out Los 
Angeles and I say feh to you.)
