Hi Jonathan:
I am the Cantorial Soloist at Congregation B'nai Torah in Sudbury, Mass. and
have been investigating possible material for Purimshpiel as well. I was
wondering how you liked Norman Roth's Shpiel.
Also Have you seen Billy Dreskin's material. If not, his e-mail address is
ayakeh (at) cloud9(dot)net . He has a number of different themes and has a
demo tape available.
B'shalom

Subject: [HANASHIR:7780] Purimspiel ideas
Hello All,
I am writing to to you in order to gather ideas for this year's Purimspiel at
my Jewish day school. I am the music teacher at Brandeis Hillel Day School in
San Francisco, a K-8 school.
Last year we performed Norman Roth's ' A Beatle's Purim' with modifications
to suit the format of a day school school assembly. Basically, each class was
assigned a song to sing while several actors performed the Megillah vignettes.
I am currently looking for ideas for this year. On the table is a Disney
script. I wonder if it would be accepted by the middle schoolers. Norman Roth
also wrote a Rock and Roll script. Has anyone performed it or seen it?
I would appreciate any ideas that come to your minds. Feel free to email me
privately at jcferris (at) hotmail(dot)com(dot)
Thanks,
Jonathan Ferris
