Yes, I also teach my students the Blessing Before the Haftarah and the
V'ahavta before they learn their Haftarah and Torah portions. I make
sure they learn versions of these prayers that are "tropically" exact,
even if the congregational variant is different. In cases where they
already know a version of these prayers well, I use what phrases I can
to show them the tropes.
However, there is also an order of tropes paragraph that can generally
be found in a traditional Tikkun, for example, the p. 246 B of the Ktav
Tikkun. (Kadma-munch-zarka-munach-segol . . . . ) When I first learned
to chant Torah, I learned the tropes in this order, although I now use
the most frequent first phrase order as in Spiro or Binder.
