[HANASHIR:7574] Re: Chanukah tunes

Chevre - Could you please help? I need a word by word translation for this
most beautiful Chanukah song for kids: The name is "Ner Shel Chag" by Nili
Rabinovitz and can be found on p. 18 of "Chai Songs for Children" by that
author.

Ner shel chag ya-ir, ya-ir
Chanukah, Chanukah
V'shir shel chag, nashir Chanukah.
Sheket, sheket haas
Kad ha shemen chanukiah
Sheket, sheket haas
Nes gadol haya
Ner shel chag ya-ir ya-ir
Chanukah Chanukah!
V'shir shel chag nashir, nashir
Chanukah, Chanukah!

Instead of guessing ..... or putting together a few words here and
there..... I'll leave it to the experts! Thanks.

Subject: [HANASHIR:7573] Chanukah tunes

>Dear Friends -
>I haven't seen mentioned yet a great Chanukah tune for all ages, especially
the hard to reach teens - and older Safam melody called "Judah Maccabee."
It is great in that each verse takes the lesson to a different time and
place and reiterates the heroism involved.
>One note if you know the song:
>It begins, "Oh, when I was a boy, my one and only joy was pretending I was
living in the past." I've changed it to, "Oh, when I was a kid, this is
what I did, I pretended I was living in the past."
>It's a great, great song.
