when I was a child (many moons ago) I served some time at an Orthodox day
school. Among the positive things that I remember was that we had a
wonderful song - medley of songs, actually - to all the parshiyot. Each of
the 5 books of the Torah was set to a different melody...
I honestly couldn't name all 5 original songs (just 3 of them) but would be
happy to sing them for you on the phone if you call me at 972 818-2660.
(central time zone) during the day or between 9-11pm is best. I always use
this as an example of using music to memorize facts, etc. in my workshop I
give called "the magical, musical classroom". Because of this song which I
learned in 4th grade, to this day I can name the parshiyot in order (or know
what parsha comes each week...) I have a great one for the 50 United States
in alphabetical order too... :)
happy to help,
Raquel Gershon
