[HANASHIR:7444] Re: Tu B'shevat Shabbat/Journeys/ and performing in NY area

A belated response. I am delighted that people are using Shorashim! If anyone
wants the choral arrangements to the songs from Israel World Beat,
(Shorashim, Nata'ati Etz, Eretz Zavat Chalav and Lo Yareu etc.) Velvel
Pasternak/TARA has just reprinted the book for me in a better format.
Available from TARA or directly from me as well.

An additional word about Rick Calvert's 'JOURNEYS" . It was a pleasure and
privilege to be the producer of this wonderful new offering. Rick has many
talents and above all, his menschlachkeit shines through! Kol hakavod! I
believe that it will provide many enriching hours of peaceful listening and
singing enjoyment. Just got word from Velvel that he thinks it is a lovely
recording. Sweet - his words. Peaceful - excellent production, should do well.

UPDATE:
On Saturday December 9th, I will be performing in Brooklyn, New York in a
benefit for Kolot Chayeinu/Voices of Our Lives. It is part of WHITE FIRE- an
evening of Jewish performance, poetry and music honouring Arthur Strimling,
eminent Maggid/Storyteller, writer and director. Guest Artists also include
acclaimed author, critic and poet, Alicia Ostriker, and poet/writer Enid Dame
as well as Lisa Lipkin, Peter Pitzele, Rivkah Walton and HaNashir familiar
Eliot Pilshaw.
It is an honour to be part of this amazing group. For more info you can
contact Elliot who is the Music Director of this progressive congregation.

I will remain in the area until the following weekend. I also perform at the
Manhattan Day School on the 12th wearing my hat as children's performer. If
anyone would like to host a small informal concert/house concert or an oneg
shabbat or would like a last-minute in-school concert /workshop or synagogue
presentation let me know.

Fran Avni, singer/songwriter/performer/producer/resource ... whatever. Have
