1. Book for niggunim: Chabad Melodies: Songs of Lubavicher Hassidim,
by Eli Lipsker and Velvel Pasternak, Tara 1997. (I just met this book
on my sister's piano on Sunday evening, so the question was well-timed.)
2. Thanks to all those who replied to my enquiry about recording
devices. I just splurged and bought a minidisc player, and it is
_wonderful_. _Excellent_ sound quality, can't hear any background
noise. So small and lightweight, plus the ability to label tracks and
jump back and forth at will. 72 minutes per disc instead of 45 minutes
per tape side ... and an indicator that tells how many minutes are left,
so I don't have to keep checking. I'll get a chance to put it through
its paces in only 6 ½ more months!
Best wishes to all,
- Ros
