Joel,

You might choose one or two lively and easy-to-learn nigunim.  Hinei Ma Tov
and Hava Nagila are probably the best-known Hebrew songs and may be good
choices for a non-Jewish group of kids. If you prefer another Hinei Ma Tov,
you could try the call and response one ,(Hinei (hinei) Ma Tov (ma tov). Zum
Gali is fun and easy to teach, especially with just a "lai, lai" on the top
line. Chey Artseinu is lots of fun and half of it is sung to "la,la, la".
Other than that I would advise choosing songs in English (or Spanish if
available) translation.  For small groups of kids of that age I often find
the judicious use of rhythm instruments can add another level of
participation.  If not, clapping patterns can have a similar effect.  In
general, I find that an upbeat program is most successful with middle
elementary school.  Have fun.
