[HANASHIR:7050] Re: Sukkot Melodies

I've been using what I think is a Rabbi Joe Black song parody to Rockin'
Robin.

You get the boards, I'll get the gourds,
We'll put the schach on top of 2x4s

Build a sukkah (tweet, tweet, tweet--or clap, clap, clap) (2x)
Gonna build a sukkah gonna live in it all night long.

You get the popcorn, I'll get the string
We'll live in our sukkah, gonna dance and sing

Build a.....

You shake your lulav to the ground, You shake your lulav in the air
You know you shake it north, you shake it south, you shake it east, you shake
it west...WHY? Cause God is everywhere...

Build a sukkah...

Then I add verses, based on items my students want to put in the sukkah.
they choose the items, I try to construct a rhyme. For example:

You bring the chairs, I'll bring the Table,
On Sunday morning we'll eat lox and bagels...

in the Sukkah......

With older kids, I get them to play air guitar with me on real guitar, do
do-wap stuff, etc.

Been enjoying the posts...
