[HANASHIR:7042] Re: HANASHIR digest 1024/venomar source

RE: venomar lefanav shirah hadashah:

<< thanks raquel ... thanks judy ... I've found it. If anyone out there knows
where this prayer in the hagaddah comes from ... I'd like to know that too

The passage is from the mishnah, seder Mo'ed tractate Pesahim 10.5. The
phrase "shirah hadashah" is borrowed from the psalms, 149, and interestingly,
was inserted there by the compiler/s/editor/s of the haggadah after "venomar
lefanav" and before the final word, "halleluyah."

For those interested in the layers of the Hagaddah, the resource I opened up
is called the Polychrome Hagaddah, and it color-codes the layers in the text,
from Biblical through to modern.

An essential resource for those who regularly have "where is that verse from"
questions is a concordance, available in the old fashioned book form, and on
CD-Rom.

Yamim Nora'im must be over, see all the time I have on my hands.... oops
gotta go prepare for Sukkot, Shemina Atzeret .... Simhat Torah ...... a
couple of Bnei Mitzvah ......... !!!!!!!
