Dear All,
God works in wonderful ways! I had a great experience this past weekend that
I wanted to share with you, as I think you will all appreciate it.
I led my monthly Tot Shabbat service here in Worcester this past Saturday
morning. I've been incorporating what I would call very mini-d'var torahs
into the service. This was some commmentary from the UAHC website which I
had studied prior to leading the service:
In this week's parashah, Ki Tavo, we read: "You shall go to the priest and
say to him, 'I acknowledge this day before Adonai your God that I have
entered the land that God swore to our fathers to give us. Adonai brought us
to this place and gave us this land, a land flowing with milk and honey.
Wherefore I now bring the first fruits of the soil that You, O God, have
given me.'" (Deuteronomy 26:3; 9-10)
The parent coordinator (who leads the craft project and was responsible for
bringing some food for the kiddush luncheon) brought a wicker basket of
pears from her pear tree to the luncheon! And she had no idea about the
torah portion. It was a great segue into the d'var and I'm sure there's a
song in there somewhere!
What fun!
