>From a down-under perspective, this is a great idea. My question is - how
feasible would it be to create an on-line Shiron so that we could download
the bits we want? I know it's possible, but am not sure about the technical
doodahs required to do this.
Also some copyright questions might arise - even more than usual, perhaps.
I wonder what others think of this idea?

Hey there all--
I think Rick brings up a great idea here! In the last 10 years at least, and
in the time since Manginot was first put out by TransContinental, there have
been a proliforation of new and useful Jewish songs. It seems like most of
them are geared around the holidays. It would be great to create a
"Shireinu"-type resource for the Jewish holidays, etc. I also know the
realities of editing, getting all the proper releases and copyright info,
the
list goes on.....
So here's my idea folks.... Now is the perfect time for us to create the
solution for our question. I believe that a resource of this type might be
even better if WE, the hanashir community, would create this resource book!
I
think we could/should organize a committee, and solicite music for
inclusion,
edit it and so on.... This is a big undertaking, I do know that, but there
are certainly enough qualified people on this list who can contibute and/or
be a part of this project to make it worthwhile....
So...............Any takers???
One final point, every resource we have is "out of date" the day after it is
published, because good new music is always being (and I hope will continue
to be) written. So...let's make this book with inside pockets for the
inevitable, additional songsheets that we'll be using for the new songs that
will written AFTER we publish this book!!
Let's all talk about it, eh?
