[HANASHIR:6758] Re: Kids who hate music class

Jennifer,

So I ran into a similar problem of running out of tricks in my bag of
tricks to keep the older kids engaged some years ago. One thing I tried
that worked that you haven't mentioned here -- Listening Sessions.

I brought in my Israeli Rock Music, and some other less signable stuff that
was more suited to listening (Klezmer and Sephardic/Mizrahi stuff too I
think) and had them listen and talk to me about what they thought of it...
We even did a whole poetry analysis of Shir Lashalom around Israel
Independence day. That particular year, with those particular kids it
worked pretty well, so I figured I throw it out as a suggestion...

Hope it helps!
