[HANASHIR:6744] Re: Holocaust music

Noah,

There is a book called Yes, We Sang! Songs of the Ghettos and Concentration
Camps. It is published by Harper and Row and is by Shoshana Kalisch. I do
not know if TARA carries it or not. But it has lots of music and
information about each song. It is great resource to have in any music
collection. I also have a CD by Leon Lishner called Our Town Is Burning:
Cries From the Holocaust. It is on the Centaur label and was released in
1994. It has 27 songs from the Holocaust on it. I also have several more
"art song" music collection of songs from the Holocaust. Cannot get my
hands on them now, but I have performed them previously. If I run across
them, I will pass along the info. Also, Steve Dropkin has a beautiful,
haunting melody for Ani Maamin. There is also L. Avery's Blessed is the
Match with words by Hannah Senesh which is a lovely piece.

Judy :)
