Obviously it is expecting too much to receive the next version 'free.'  
Perhaps she meant a 'trade-in' for the amount she spent for the version which 
isn't much use.  But I can understand her frustration, having several 
'songsters' on my shelf which I was told had melody lines and which 
turned-out to be just lyrics or lyrics with chords, and which were more 
trouble to return than the price paid.
