[HANASHIR:6585] Re: Software for transcribing songs

I myself use a very old program no longer available that does the job,
however, I have had my eye on a piece of software for quite some time called
SMART SCORE. I tried the demo and loved it. What the program does is to allow
you to scan in a sheet of music and then work with it, transpose it,
whatever. This is such a time saver in that you do not have to play in all
the notes by hand or by keyboard. The only thing I am waiting for it for the
scanner to recognize and incorporate lyrics into the program. I have written
this company on a couple occassions and they say they are still planning to
come out with text recognition. Actually that my have happened by now, and I
need to check on this myself.

Here is the link if you want to check it out:

it is available for PC and Mac, which I prefer. I see that there is a new
feature now that supports finale, so maybe it is possible to add the text
from finale after the music is scanned in. It would be worth finding out.
