[HANASHIR:6492] Re: songs for baby namings

Wendy,

On the recording by Linda Hirschorn and Fran Avni called "Selections from
Marcia Falk's Blessings in Song, there is a lovely song about hallowing
names. I think the song is called "Hallowing our Names", but I can't put my
hands on it at this moment. I've had personal experience using it for a baby
naming and it was just great. I know you can get the recording through
Sounds Write Productions (800-976-8639).

Also, Peter and I wrote a song called "On the Day That You Were Born" which
is recorded on our Sing it! Say it! Stamp it! Sway it! vol. 2 recording.
This song also works quite well for baby namings. We teach it and include
sign language which is a lot of fun to do and helps people learn the song.
The lyrics are listed below (you can substitute the child's name for the
word "you"). If you're interested in the recording, email me privately and
I'll let you know how to get it. Good luck!

All the best, Ellen

ON THE DAY THAT YOU WERE BORN

On the day that you were born
The flowers bloomed and the unicorn
Danced and sang the whole day long
On the day that you were born.
On the day, on the day
On the day that you were born
On the day, on the day
On the day that you were born.
